Things To Do This Weekend in Los Angeles 11/20

Things to Do in LA This Weekend

November 20th-22nd, 2015

We're starting a new series, where we answer the question, "What to do this weekend?" We're going to present you three things, one for Friday night, and two things you can choose from Saturday and Sunday. You may be saying, “Why three? There are so many things to do in Los Angeles, why only settle for three?” Well, unless you’re planning on being hopped up on RedBull the entire weekend, have no chores to do, and have unlimited amounts of disposable income, we’re going to narrow this down for a bit.

We have an ethos with "What To Do This Weekend". We're looking for weekend events that can lead to great stories and memories; these things are also reasonably priced but leave the details up to you. We'll give you a weather forecast, so if it's going to be a torrential downpour, we won't recommend that you go to the beach, and if it's the hottest day of the year, we're not going to recommend that you go for a hike.

With that out of the way, let's get to business.

The Forecast:

It’s always good to get a forecast before planning any great adventure. This weekend’s forecast for Los Angeles County is looking fantastic. We’re supposed to be getting warmer temperatures back, a much needed relief from the fall weather that came out of nowhere. With that in mind, here are the things you should totally do this weekend:

Friday Night

Things To Do This Weekend - Friday Night

Escape Room

An interesting group activity that puts you in a “locked” room and you have to solve a puzzle to make your way out. Each Escape Room has its own unique theme and they regularly switch them up. So if you’ve always wanted to get a group of people together to play a game, but can’t get them to sit around your kitchen table long enough to get around the Monopoly board even once, an Escape Room is the best place to take them.

Saturday & Sunday

Things To Do This Weekend - Griffith Park

Griffith Park & Observatory

It’s supposed to be a nice weekend of reasonable temperatures, so now is the perfect time to go for a walk in the park. It’ll be slightly cooler than Saturday, so that’ll make any hike or picnic perfect. With the wind blowing, hopefully there won’t be a lot of cloud cover if you decide to stay through the night. Griffith Observatory

The best part is that November 21st is the monthly “star party.” From 2:00 P.M - 9:30 P.M., a grip of telescopes will be setup outside so you can view the stars. Because we’re expecting mainly clear skies, it’s unlikely to be cancelled (no point in hosting a star party if clouds are covering the main attraction). The best part is that it’s FREE. And so is the parking. (I totally got your attention there, didn't I?) Once you’re done gazing at the stars from outside, you can go inside the Observatory, which is open until 10 P.M.

AND

Things To Do This Weekend - The Beach

The Beach

You can go down to sea level. To go along with our beautiful weekend, this may just be the last time you can potentially wear close to nothing and go get a suntan before March rolls around..Saturday is supposed to be slightly warmer than Sunday, but both days are supposed to be in the mid-70s with little to no cloud cover and mild winds.

The best part? It’s November, so no one really expects to go to the beach, so you may luck out and find no one there. No little kids kicking sand on you, or other little kids kicking sand on your little kids. Go experience one of the last few opportunities to get some great sun before we descend into winter weather.
