Things To Do This Weekend – LA – 3-4-16

You’re here, and looking for things to do this weekend? Good, we’re here to help. Los Angeles always has a bunch of things to do, so it’s all about planning on exactly what interests you.

After the couple of beautiful weekends we had, it’s time for the returning gloom of early spring. But that’s ok, we need the rain. This week’s theme is indoor relaxation. Take this weekend to recharge, cause I know I am. The sun’s going to come back with a vengeance, and I’m using this weekend to refuel.

Friday Night – The Natural History Museum

It’s the First Friday night event at the Natural History Museum. They do this the first Friday of every month so you can spend extra time exploring the history of the world. They have a tour called, “Stranger Than Fiction,” a DJ lounge with KCRW’s Aaron Byrd playing the set, live music, and a discussion with Dr. Maddalena Bearzi and Dr. Chris Thacker. Honestly, they have so many things to see on top of what I just listed, and it’s open later than normal. Tickets can be found here, and their exhibit list here.

Don’t miss out, or you’ll have to wait till next month.

Saturday Day – Artists and Fleas

The Artist and Fleas market is moving to a secondary location in Abbot Kinney. This is the opening day for the flea market in the Venice area. Originally from Brooklyn, you’ll find a lot of hipster and hippie items on sale. However, there is quality to be found here, so don’t let that put you off. Dozens of vendors and artists will have their wares on sale. Artists and Fleas is a great place to go find something niche and well-made.

Saturday Night – Go To The Movies

It's gonna be a super cloudly and not very warm night, so it’s time to go to the movies. With the Oscars over, a lot of theaters are rescreening Oscar nominees and winners. You can see The Revenant, the movie that finally got Leo is first Oscar. You can also see Bridge of Spies, Room, and whole host of other great and deserving films. If you’re looking for something a little more upbeat, Zootopia, according to critics, is currently crushing it. We also have Dealflicks tickets found here, if you’re looking for an extra discount.

Sunday – Netflix & Chill & Other Indoor Activities

It’s going to be raining in the morning on Sunday as well as Monday, so I expect some kind of rain in the middle of the day too. Turn that frown upside down with some hot cocoa. Lounge around the house in your pjs. Maybe you can throw on a movie, listen to the radio, read a book you haven’t had a chance to pick up, or plan out your next adventure. Lazy days are important for unwinding. Or you can make Sunday a game day and pull out old classics like Clue or Twister. Have some fun!

If you want to get your heart pumping, put in some time at the gym, or hit up a rock climbing gym if you’re feeling up to the challenge. The best part is the rain makes it easy to shower. Kidding, but maybe you can sing in the rain as you walk back to your car.
