Things To Do in LA This Weekend – 1-1-16

Happy New Year’s everyone! It’s time for the New Year, to celebrate all the good things that happened to us last year, and to throw all the trash away. So what’re we going to do with the first three days of the New Year after a heavy night of partying?

Well, we’re going to relax, think about our resolutions for the new year, and we’re going to relax a little bit so we can plan out our new year properly. But first, let’s look at the weather.

Friday Night: Party Time!

Some of us will have the day off, which means we can take our time getting over our hangovers. For others, hopefully we didn’t drink and/or party too much the night before. That way we can do it all over again today! Well, some of us anyways. For everyone else, maybe we can get together with friends and family to begin the New Year off right. There's so many things to do in la that I couldn't possibly list them all, but you and your friends and family know what you want to do, so get out there and do 'em!

Saturday: Do Some Cleaning

I know I already mentioned this in a previous post, but I think it's even more important now. Unless you’re continuing the last two days of potentially heavy partying, now is the time to do some cleaning. Why wait for spring cleaning done when you can get it done today? Now is a great time to throw away all of those things you don’t want or really don’t need. Honestly, every year around this time, I tend to collect things I don’t need/like (especially winter things) and bring them over to my Good Will or Salvation Army. I have had jackets for 10 years that have slowly been replaced by friends and family buying me new ones as gifts. So now is a great time to donate.

Plus, you just (hopefully) got a lot of presents. If you really would like some space to put them all, get read of some stuff you don't need. Now, you don't have to go all KonMari, but just a little bit of junk removal would probably make you feel a whole lot better. You're already making resolutions for the future, why not get rid of some old baggage as well?

Sunday: Make Plans For Your First Big Adventure

As the 3rd day of the New Year, maybe it’s time for all of us to sit down and plan our next big adventure, if we haven’t already. Maybe we should save up for scuba diving or set aside a weekend to go drive that Ferrari. Making plans now, in January, will open up a lot of time for us to do the things we want in the New Year from that small weekend getaway in March to that two-week long journey in August. Ooohhh. Tahiti sounds nice.

But this is also the time to make some resolutions. I think doing it right before the New Year is just so arbitrary. It's quieter now; the parties are over and done with. So, now that we're lounging around the house, or spending a last day or two with family members, this is a good time to get out that resolution book.

Happy New Year! Let's get this year started on the right food!
